Register
Rolling appointments take place from February through April.
Children in PreK or Daycare do NOT need to attend.
***Registration and Meet & Greet Appointments will go live on January 21.***

Documents Required for Registration
Child's Birth Certificate
- Registered Birth Certificate from the Town, City, or County
- Ceremonial birth certificates from hospitals are NOT accepted
Child's School Health Form

Physical Exam or MA School Health Form, signed by a physician in the last 12 months

Complete Vaccination History

Pediatric Lead Test
Parent/Guardian Photo ID
Submit ONE from the options below

MA Driver's License or ID (preferred)

- Military ID Card
If Applicable:

Legal guardianship documentation

Proof that the adult is seeking guardianship
- Special Education Records (Individualized Education Plan/ IEP or 504 Plan) IF transferring from another district
- Medication Order Form (if the child will need to have prescription medications, such as an inhaler or epi-pen, administered at school).
- Asthma Action Plan
- Allergy Action Plan
- Seizure Action Plan
- Massachusetts Transfer Card
Evidence of Residency
Submit ONE from the options below

Massachusetts Driver's License or state identification with Nantucket address (preferred)
- Copy of Deed and/or record of most recent mortgage
- Copy of Lease AND record of most recent rent payment
- Legal affidavit from landlord confirming tenancy
- Section 8 agreement
- Affidavit of Residency
Evidence of Occupancy
Submit ONE from the options below

- Payroll stub
- Bank or credit card statement

- Tax bill (i.e. property or excise)
- Current vehicle registration

Absence Policy
Children who are sick should not come to school BUT you MUST report your child's absence.
Call or email the front office and notify the child's teacher.
If you will be taking an extended vacation or need to travel off island, let the office know when you know what your plans are.
Food at school
NES offers Breakfast and Lunch
Menus are posted on our Food Services Website
Students can either get lunch from the Cafe or bring from home
All students should bring a snack and reusable water bottle
NO NUT PRODUCTS we have students with dangerous nut allergies
